Great food and service. Under new management and great value. The Kracken Burger was amazing.

Had a double date here one snowy Sunday lunch. The atmosphere is wonderful and it's especially cosy with roaring fires, candles in rum bottles and local historic artwork and photos on the walls. I enjoyed a tuna steak which is a nice change as you rarely see this on the special boards of Derbyshire pubs. The others all enjoyed steak and we finished off with my first ever bakewell pudding which was delicious with local ice cream. Staff were wonderfully friendly and welcoming, even with my grumpy little shihtzu growling at them. There were many other dogs and even a working collie dozing around the pub so you get a real country pub experience.

Eaten here quite a few times since the management changed and the food has always been good as has the beer! It is great to have a pub doing good food walking distance from home that welcomes dogs and children. Also reliably still serving till 11pm which is great if you have hobbies that often finish late... like caving!

Very dog friendly, individual areas so you can relax with your furry freinds. Very attentive staff food great, large portions very tasty. Well kept Guinness n the wine Merlot was lush, pretty fairy lights n a log burner. We will return as it's just so welcoming.

My husband had the lamb shank and I had the chicken jerk - both absolutely delicious. Attentive staff, good atmosphere. A nice place to dine

Really good Sunday roast. Toilets are small but is a quaint traditional pub. Thank you
